Eighty-five questions on the NCLEX-RN form and eighty-five on the NCLEX-PN form, drawn from the general bank and sealed, so every candidate on a track sits the same exam and a result means the same thing for everyone. Five case studies unfold step by step and make up 30 of the 85; the other 55 stand alone, in every format the exam uses.
The form is built to the current NCSBN test plan, its case studies follow the clinical judgment model, and the ten sections sit in the test plan’s proportions. The clock is the NCLEX’s own five-hour limit; most people finish in about ninety minutes. It runs in secure mode: leaving the sitting is recorded, and there is no going back.
The result is a readiness band, scored for each of the ten sections and emailed to you with the subtopics you missed. No percentage is dressed up as a pass probability; the NCLEX is pass or fail, and the band says how ready you look, section by section.
