What students ask before they buy.
Short answers. Where a detail matters legally, the Terms and Privacy pages are the ones that count.
Is the content built for the 2026 test plan?
Yes. Every item carries a client needs category and a clinical judgment step, and the bank is held inside the percentage ranges published in the NCLEX test plan effective April 2026, including the renamed Safety and infection prevention and control category.
Can I really move between my phone and my laptop mid-session?
Yes. Sessions, answers, notebook entries, flashcard scheduling and your Predictor booking are stored on your account rather than the device. Lumen runs in the browser on all three, with nothing to install: open it on a laptop and it resumes on the item you left on your phone.
What happens if a question or rationale is wrong?
Report it from inside the item. It leaves your rotation immediately, goes to a nurse editor, and you get told what changed. Reported items are versioned, so corrections are visible rather than silent.
Do you predict whether I will pass?
We show a readiness band, Likely to pass, Borderline or Not yet, with the section detail behind it and what to do next. It is an estimate from your own answers, not a promise: no practice bank can promise an NCLEX result, and the NCLEX itself is pass or fail.
Is the free readiness exam really free?
Yes. No card, no trial that converts. You verify your email with a six digit code, sit 85 questions, and the report is emailed to you with a discount code. One sitting per person.
Why is the readiness exam one sitting per person?
Because it is one fixed form: every candidate on a track sits the same 85 questions, which is what makes the result comparable and the exam a readiness check rather than a way to read the bank for free. It is tied to your verified email and the device you sit it on. Classmates on the same campus network can each sit it.
How hard is it?
Set at the standard of the NCLEX itself: built to the current NCSBN test plan, in its section proportions, with five unfolding case studies. The clock is the NCLEX’s own five-hour limit; most people finish in around ninety minutes.
What is secure mode?
The readiness exam, the Adaptive CAT, Test sets and the Predictor run in secure mode. It takes the whole screen where the browser allows it, and leaving the sitting (another tab or app, swiping away, exiting full screen) covers the question and is recorded against the sitting. On a phone, browsers do not offer full screen to a web page, so the set runs without it; departures are still recorded. Study mode is not an exam and is never locked.
What do I get on a paid plan?
The whole bank for your track, every item format, Study and Test modes, the Adaptive CAT, and Predictor sittings according to the plan. The 30-day NCLEX plan is a monthly subscription: it renews automatically every month at the price you paid until you cancel. The 60, 90 and 180-day NCLEX plans are one-time payments for a fixed term; they do not renew and there is nothing to cancel. Nursing School plans are subscriptions too: the 1-month plan renews every month, the 6-month plan every 6 months and the 12-month plan every year, each at the price you paid, until you cancel. You can cancel any subscription online in one step from Plans in your account.
How do I cancel the 30-day plan or a Nursing School plan?
Open Plans in your account and cancel the renewal, or use the Manage billing link in any receipt. It takes one step and you do not need to contact us. Canceling stops the next charge, and your access stays open until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Can I get a refund?
Your first paid purchase is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days and have answered fewer than 50 questions. Renewals are not refundable, except a renewal you forgot to cancel: ask within 5 days of the charge, before answering any questions since it, and it is refunded in full. Billing errors and duplicate charges are always refunded. The full wording is on the Refund Policy page (/refunds).
Is there an app to download?
Lumen runs in the browser on your phone, tablet and computer, with nothing to install. Your place in a session, your notebook, your flashcards and your Predictor booking live on the account, so you can move between devices mid-set.
I am still in nursing school. Is this for me?
Lumen Nursing School is a separate bank written to course objectives, twenty courses from Anatomy and Physiology through Nursing Research, sold on its own subscription. NCLEX preparation can be added later without starting again.
My school is buying seats. How does that work?
A school buys seats and invites students to claim them. The seat belongs to the student; the school sees aggregate progress (questions answered, section scores, readiness) and never an individual answer. Email us for a quote.
